Spaz

Today was a spaztic day and it's because I was CA this morning and I'm getting sick so I'm not all here mentally. I was so gung-ho about beginning and finishing my patient that I did OHI and began scaling before I even had my instructor sign my HHX! I know, so stupid. So once I was really ready to scale, I scaled and in my first quad I didn't miss any spots! My next three quads were tough though, because my patient had a lot of calculus build-up on her mandibular lingual bar. I used to ultrasonic scaler to get most of it off, but her tongue kept getting in the way and so I finally stopped. After that, she could not keep her tongue away from that area which made scaling very difficult. All in all, I made my goal of doing OHI scaling her mouth and having her finished and walked out by 2:45 and I was able to pass off my Universal PE (although I felt spacey passing that off as well). Now I'm off to go home and go to bed by nine again tonight so that I may fight off this sickness.

Did you stick your H6-7 backwards and tell her she might get her tongue poked? Come on! Loved your CA presence today in our clinic.
