I'm Back For More

I'm back from summer break and already three weeks into Senior Year! So far I have really enjoyed senior year. I feel more in control of my appointments and more like a practicing hygienist. I'm trying to not stress as much during clinic and to have a more laid-back attitude. Today was our first anesthsia lab. We partnered up and administered four maxillary injections: PSA, MSA, Greater Palatine, and Nasopalatine. Last year, I was my peer pal's mockboard anesthesia patient where I received a PSA and IA injection. Other than those, I have never had oral injections before. I was extremely nervous but the PSA and MSA did not hurt at all! The two palatine injections were painful, but it only lasted a few seconds and boy was I numb! I shook when I administered the injections, but it's a good feeling knowing I did it! So now I'm back into school and looking forward to the interesting and exciting adventures that await!
